Today I had a long meeting with the Hon'ble Minister School and Mass Education Dept, Govt. of Orissa, on the status of computer aided learning program in Orissa as a whole and the Digital Equalizer Program in particular. The discussion focussed on issues underpinning computer aided learning programs in general and the necessity of a supporting back end ecosystem in particular, on which the success of a computer aided learning program is ultimately predicated. The Hon'ble Minister was quick to grasp the issues critical to the success of effective integration of technology in teaching and was extremely supportive as regards the implementation of the DE Decentralized Resource Centre-cum-Training model, which is going to be implemented in selected Secondary and Upper Primary Schools spread over six districts of Orissa, for the academic year 2010-2012. I came back from the meeting feeling highly motivated.
